Book Recommendations to Level Up Your Money and Life

Y’all know that I love reading, especially self-growth books. I’m focusing on breaking toxic patterns, reframing my relationship with money and redefining what it means to love myself. Here are some of my favorite Book recommendations to Level Up Your Money and Life.

We should all be millionaires

First off is, We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers. Her voice really comes through the pages and I can hear her saying “Will that help you build the life you want” in my ear while I contemplate over making Broke Ass Decisions. If you are ready for some tough love and accountability to building wealth, this is the book for you. The exercises throughout the book provide a framework for shifting your mindset from Broke Ass Decisions to Millionaire Decisions. I found myself highlighting and annotating every other page. Her story is incredible and she has motivated me to become a millionaire in the making. Add to cart here.

You are a Badass at making money

Second on the list was You are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero. This one is one of my all-time favorite books. I picked up this book in 2015, but I get into it because of where I was at in my life. It wasn’t until 2018 when I picked up this book again that I was able to soak in her lessons. This book has helped me get over my mind drama with money. Jen will have you literally laughing out loud with her storytelling and analogies. Truly such a heartwarming book that helps you practice compassion around your money drama. Get the book here.

I’ve read “How to be a Badass with Money” and her original book “How to be a Badass” and both were really good. She has 4 books total in her “How to Be a Badass” book series.

What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding

Next up is, What I Was Doing While You Were Breading by Kristin Newman and this is hands down my favorite love story ever. It is a memoir about her tribulations with love. Her story is full of comedy, adventure and steamy situations. In the book she hilariously outlines her tragic love story and learns how to love herself. If you’re going through a breakup, I promise this will help you feel better. Kristin Newman is the writer behind “How I Met Your Mother” so it’s no surprise that the book will provide you with laughs. I found myself laughing out loud and making a fool of myself as I read the book in public spaces. Get your copy here.

All About Love

All About Love by Bell Hooks is an eye-opening book that highlights the notion that Love and Abuse cannot coexist. Bell Hooks describes how undefined love is in society and dives into how dysfunctional families teach a warped definition of love. These often toxic definitions we then recreate in our adult relationships and continue to enforce the same toxic patterns that we saw growing up. This book has forever changed that way I view love and how I define it for myself. It’s helped me identify toxic patterns and has given me the power to stand up for myself. It’s truly a revolutionary book that has allowed me to learn to love myself (and others) better. Check out the book here.

Money a Love Story

Lastly, Money a Love Story by Kate Northup has been instrumental in helping me process money trauma and rewrite my money story. Kate Northrup gets real and honest about the way our mindset manifests our outcomes. The book is full of helpful exercises on how to rewrite your money story and transform your relationship with money. I highly suggest to take your time and worth through the discomfort, there is a lot there to unpack. Get the book here.
