How to Schedule Self-Care into your Life

Life can get busy with endless compromisos with family, friends, work, side hustles, etc. I get it amiga, I really do. When we are too busy DOING things many times we lose touch with our inner-self – and that is detrimental to manifestation. Manifesting your best life is all about tapping into yourself, and a key to doing that is knowing how to schedule self-care into your life.

Personally, I will lose track of my self-care routine unless I track it. With so many mental to-do’s in my head, there’s no way I could effectively track my self-care routine.  So, the first thing I do is I list the daily and weekly self-care activities I want to include in my routine.

Step 1: Write out your Self-Care activities

First things first amiga, write out your self-care activities. This can be anything from hydrating, reading a book, listening to music, taking time to unplug or making time for a walk. Write them down first! Then we can move onto step two of how to schedule self-care into your life!

Step 2: Make a daily routine of your self-care activities

Next up, we add these things into your daily routine. For example, my morning routine consists of waking up, grabbing my journal (before reaching for my phone) and writing down what I am grateful for that day. I also take 2 minutes to write someone a love letter in my journal. Then I start my day with a quick 7 minute run! After that I get into my day. I also make time during lunch to meditate and end my evenings with a uplifting read. I use this Daily Routine sheet to help me. Download it here! Step 3: Track your Self-Care activities with an Accountability tracker

Now that you know how you’d like to implement your self-care routine, it’s time to track it! This really helps me keep myself honest and accountable. It’s so easy for me to think “I’ll get to my meditation after (Fill in Blank here)” and guess what? I usually don’t get to it. Step 4: Reassess and Revise

As I track my progress throughout the week with the weekly routine planner, I make time at the end of the week to check and see how I did. If I didn’t make the time I wanted for my self-care activities, I reassess how realistic that goal is and revise it to something attainable. Remember, this is intended to help you stay on track, not to make you feel guilty for falling behind. That’s why we revise it amiga! Things change form week to week so don’t trip if you didn’t hit your goal for the week. Have self-compassion and move on.

I hope these tips and worksheets help! I know they help me stay committed to my self-care routine. When I take care of myself, I feel good. And when I feel good, I do good. When I do good, I tap into my high vibrational energy that lives inside me. The more I implement self-care, the stronger and more often I’m able to tap into my inner-Chingona.
